Berry's Sawmill: The ultimate redwood forest activity! Free, self-guided tour of redwoods being milled. Open Mon - Fri 7:45am - 4:30pm; Sat 8am - 12pm. Located on Highway 116 just past Cazadero Highway. 707-865-2365.

Bicycling Cazadero: Bicycling is a year-round activity in Cazadero. In January, February, and March most of the rainfall occurs, but even then there will be many sunny days, particularly at the coast where fog tends to prevail in the summer. The terrain in this area is hilly to mountainous, includes redwood forest, unpopulated ridgeland, and the coast where the temperatures are cooler and fog often greets the day.

Ft. Ross: Fort Ross was established in 1812 by Russians as an outpost for sea otter hunters and a permanent trade base. Today, visitors can walk through the reconstructed Fort and visitor 's center. Check the website for educational festivals and events. Follow 116 west, then follow signs to Hwy 1 North towards Jenner and Fort Ross. The park is 12 miles north of Jenner on Hwy 1. The park groundsare open half hour before sunrise to half hour after sunset each day. Fort Compound, Visitor Center and Bookstore are open daily 10:00am to 4:30pm. 707-847-3286.

Kruse Rhododendron State Reserve: This pristine reserve contains 317 acres of second-growth redwood, Douglas fir, grand firs, tanoaks, and a plethora of rhododendrons. Each May these spectacular flowers burst into bloom and color the deep green of the forest with brilliant pink blossoms. There are five miles of hiking trails through the quiet forest with a short loop trail that leads through clusters of rhododendrons. Located adjacent to Salt Point State Park, 20 mi. north of Jenner on Hwy 1. Call for hours: 707-847-3221.

Russian River Outfitters: Experience the Russian River up close and personal. Guided Kayaking trips that include picnicking, wildlife viewing, bird watching, and swimming on the scenic lower Russian River. Based in Duncans Mills (just few miles from Cazadero). 707-865-9080 or toll free 1-877-rrkayak.

Salt Point State Park: With 20 miles of hiking trails, over six miles of rugged coastline, and an underwater park, you can enjoy a variety of picnicking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, skin and SCUBA diving, and camping. Located just north of Jenner on Hwy 1. Park hours are sunrise to sunset. Visitor Center is open April through October, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-3pm. 707-847-3221.

The Blue Heron (Duncans Mills Restaurant) is a turn-of-the-century restored tavern with great food and live music Wednesday-Sunday. The bar is where Cazadero locals hang out—and an interesting, eclectic bunch are they.

Cape Fear Café (Duncans Mills Restaurant) is across the road; a full-scale restaurant with an outside dining patio. The food here is truly terrific.

Cazadero General Store: Quality food and household items, gifts, toys. Open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 8:00pm, Saturday, 9:00am. to 8:00pm. 6125 Cazadero Highway. 707-632-5287.

CazSonoma Inn (Cazadero Restaurant): Fine dining (dinner and Sunday brunch), lodging, and weddings. Located on Kidd Creek Road, off Cazadero Hwy (directions). Open from May through Thanksgiving, serving dinner from 5:30pm until 8:30pm and Sunday brunch from 10am until 2pm. 707-632-5255.

Raymond's Bakery (Cazadero Restaurant): Raymond's serves a variety of focaccia, French and artisan breads, cakes, tarts, scones, cookies, and assorted other pastries. 5400 Cazadero Highway. 707-632-5335.

Wine Tasting of Sonoma County: Featuring wines from small, family owned wineries in Sonoma and neighboring counties. This wonderful store offers a wide variety of economical wines for everyday drinking as well as exceptional wine for special occasions or for cellaring.
